Taxidermia

August 4th, 2009

http://taxidermia-themovie.com/

TAXIDERMIA contains three generational stories, about a grandfather, a father, and a son, linked together by recurring motifs. The dim grandfather, an orderly during World War Two, lives in his bizarre fantasies; he desires love. The huge father seeks success as a top athlete — a speed eater — in the post-war pro-Soviet era. The grandson, a meek, small-boned taxidermist, yearns for something greater: immortality. He wants to create the most perfect work of art of all time by stuffing his own torso. Historical facts and surrealism become intertwined as magical realism, like in the works of Gabriel García Marquez or the Hungarian writer Lajos Parti Nagy; the script is based on two of the latters stories. Palfi added the third story, that of the grandson the taxidermist.

The Prop Forum and Adam Savage

March 20th, 2009

Check out the Replica Prop Forum http://www.therpf.com/ – these people have some real passion for recreating props.  Adam Savage mentioned the site in his TED talk.  Both are thoroughly entertaining and worth reading  and watching:

At EG’08, Adam Savage talks about his fascination with the dodo bird, and how it led him on a strange and surprising double quest. It’s an entertaining adventure through the mind of a creative obsessive.

Captain America Found in The Incredible Hulk

Back in the summer when we were caught up in both Iron Man and Incredible Hulk, two rather exciting easter eggs were discovered in both movies. In Iron Man, Captain America’s half-built shield could be seen sitting on Tony Stark’s work desk. In The Incredible Hulk, Captain America himself could be seen frozen in the ice in the Arctic. The only problem – that arctic scene was cut from the theatrical version of the movie! With the DVD due out next week, our friends at Film School Rejects have officially discovered our superhero frozen in the ice, as promised.

WoW fan has 36 accounts, raids by himself !!!

A lot have asked me, why create so many? The main reason is to invade Stormwind and Ironforge when they reach top level. I’m sure the Alliance will put up a big fight when that happens. We’ll see how it goes. If they don’t make level 70 before Wrath of the Lich King, then it will be at level 80. That is my main goal. That will probably happen after I’ve got some PvP gear from the battlegrounds. I’m also planning to do some 25 and 10 man raid instances but that is secondary to my PvP goal. Of course I’ll be doing arenas too to build up PvP gear but I’m not expecting to do that great there because I’m way behind in gear right now. I need to get to level 70 first, then level 80 and by then I will probably have all green gear while most others have been doing the battlegrounds and arenas. Read more…
